John Craemer – Photographer | Videographer | Creative Professional
Decades after being an award-winning high school photographer, John Craemer returned to his creative roots and is nearing completion of an Associate Degree in Photography at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC). He has already earned certificates in Design and Graphic Software, Social Media Design, Drone Technology, and Digital Marketing. In Fall 2026, he will begin a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations at Lakeland University.
In 2025, John was named NWTC’s Outstanding Program Student for Photography. He earned four 2nd-place and two 3rd-place finishes in the 2025 NWTC Digital Arts Showcase, along with two 1st-place awards in the 2024 Showcase.
From March 2024 to May 2025, John served as a multimedia reporter intern with the Green Bay Press Times before being hired full-time in June 2025. During the same period, he also served as an Academic Coach for Photography at NWTC, assisting students with photography and Adobe Creative Cloud applications.
He is the owner and operator of Master Sergeant Media, LLC, where he provides photography, videography, graphic design, website creation, and backend management services for clients. In addition, he serves as a game-day photographer for the Green Bay Blizzard.
After recently leaving the Press Times, John launched Good Vibes Green Bay, a multimedia community news platform dedicated to celebrating the people, places, and events that make Northeast Wisconsin shine. Through positive storytelling, local interviews, and feature coverage spanning sports, music, education, Veterans’ stories, and small business highlights, John’s mission is simple: share the good news happening all around us. Under the Master Sergeant Media umbrella, Good Vibes Green Bay produces engaging photo reels, video features, and social-first storytelling designed to uplift the community, promote local pride, and connect residents through authentic, feel-good content.
A retired U.S. Army Master Sergeant, John served over 30 years, including deployments to Iraq (two tours), Afghanistan, and Kosovo, leading Soldiers in combat and conducting civil-military operations that strengthened local governance, rebuilt infrastructure, and supported civilian populations in conflict zones. His military honors include:
• 3 Bronze Stars
• 5 Meritorious Service Medals
• The Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal
• The Order of Saint Maurice
• Numerous additional personal, service, and foreign awards
He has also completed extensive training in leadership, logistics, administration, civil-military operations, and operations planning at all levels of command.
John continues to serve his community and country through the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, holding dual roles as Public Affairs and Publications Officer for the Green Bay Flotilla and Publications Officer for the Great Lakes District – Western Region.
Photography is more than a creative pursuit for John—it’s a therapeutic and meaningful way to find peace and purpose after decades of structure and service. Through his lens, he captures moments that reflect both calm and resilience, evoking emotion, memory, and reflection. His military background brings discipline, patience, and a sense of mission to every shot.
Particularly inspired by the Great Lakes photography, John is drawn to lighthouses, ore boats, and tugboats—symbols of strength, endurance, and quiet purpose, much like the Soldiers he once led.
John is also a stage IV cancer survivor, whose journey was later complicated by osteoradionecrosis of the jaw. His story is one of grit, service, and creative reinvention.
